Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are a strong, natural-looking casing that covers a tooth or teeth damaged or broken by deep fillings, accidents, decay, and wear from aging. Dental crowns also are used to protect teeth that have root canal fillings.

Dental crowns strengthen and protect the integrity
of damaged teeth.

We will guide you about when it is wise to consider a crown. Waiting too long to crown a weak tooth, for example, can sometimes allow it to crack all the way through the root. In cases such as these, the entire tooth and root must be extracted. Crowns are an ideal way to preserve your natural tooth and its root.

Dental crowns are strong, natural looking,
and can be long lasting.

In some cases, patients forget which teeth have crowns!

Dental crowns require at least 2 visits:

  • At visit 1, we will remove decay, shape the tooth, and fit it with a temporary crown made of either plastic or metal
  • At visit 2, we will remove the temporary crown and precisely fit, adjust, and cement the permanent crown in place

Dental crowns protect weak and damaged teeth from additional problems
with an appealing result that matches your natural teeth!

Dental crowns are made from porcelain or porcelain bonded to gold. Porcelain crowns and dental dental bridges are a ideal for teeth that cannot support porcelain veneers.
